Thank You for the Tour of the Mural nspiration today it was amazing
On April 5, 2013 we took a trip to visit our son at Penn State we stopped by the mural to once again admire the work of Michael. I did not understand the symbolism of the mural but it to me was just beautiful. Out of no where Michael appeared and asked if we wanted a tour. All I can say is what an unbelievable experience. I laughed I cried I was so moved by the tribute it was to so many influential people. Some famous some ordinary but all had a special place. My Penn State son said he will never look at the mural as just a beautiful piece of art work, he will now admire it with such appreciation and gratitude to the way Michael has brought it to life. Thank you Michael for this unbelievable opportunity and to let us have a small glimpse into your thought process. God Bless you! Thank you for your gift to the world.
It was a wonderful experience meeting Mr. Pilato. The tour of his beautiful mural was fantastic and very inspirational. Thank you very much for your time and good luck with everything!
Nice to meet you Michael. May the good Lord guide you as you bring your heart in your art throughout the world. And may we meet again. Do feel free to get in touch anytime. ciao
Mike, thanks for the tour and explanation of the Williamsport mural. Also thanks for the poster - you made our saturday
Great job at the TEDxPSU talk Michael! It was a moving talk. I made a donation to the World Mural project, really hope that takes off!
I commend you on your strong character to revise your art and replace Sandusky with a quietly powerful symbol in support of the victims of his abuse. This is where the real focus and healing of this crisis must be concentrated.
Sir,
I commend you on your painting over Jerry Sandusky. Unfortunately you may have a lot more re-work ahead. Be well, be safe, be strong.
Gpd Bless You,
Jim McD

Michael and his work are phenomenal. We had the pleasure of meeting him recently and seeing his murals. May he continue his work so that others can see what we have seen. Barbara
We had the distinct privilege of being given a personal guided tour by Mike of the wonderful murals. Incredible creativity and remembrances of so many significant events in local, state and national history. Thank you Mike! Keep up the good work!
We were part of a tour group from NJ visiting Williamsport Oct 20th, and after lunch at the Bull Frog we had the immense pleasure of viewing the mural and having Michal personally give us a guided tour of his work. It is notable not only for the immense scope, but even more so for the ability of Mike to connect the people and their stories into the fabric of the work. Fantastic. Congratulations, Mike, and we hope this is just the foundation your continued accomplishments.
Michael,
While visiting family in the Williamsport area, on October 7, we had the opportunity to see your great art work and have you personally provide a tour for us. The web site cannot do justice to your great work. It must be seen in person. Thank you. Joe Sr and Barbara Violanti
One of the stops on a bus trip with some friends was the Williamsport Mural. Mr. Pilato told us the background of many of the people represented in the mural. The experience touched my soul. His talent combined with his passion reaches out and changes you a little. I will remember that feeling always. Thank you.
While downtown with friends to attend a show at the Community Arts Center on 9/21/11, we had the pleasure of meeting you. You were very kind and explained the recent additions to your mural of 9/11/11. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Thanks for being alive, Michael.
Thank you for spending time with the my students from Lycoming College. They always enjoy the visual literacy and historical perspective that you bring to life through your work. You have indeed given the Williamsport area a gift that will bring generations together.
Incredible amount of talent and thought that went into this project.
Incredible. When I was visiting a friend there, she said, you have to see this mural. I'm so glad we took the time to visit. It's magnificent. You must visit it in person to get the full magestry.
Michael, Thank you for the tour this past Saturday. You have so much talent. I have told many people about your work and I wish you the best on your future trips and murals.
A link to your website was sent to me by a friend who visited you and your murals in Williamsport over the 9/11/11 weekend. I'm impressed by your passion and felt like I should show my support by signing your guest book. Hopefully, I will have the pleasure of seeing your work in person some day soon.
We were admiring the mural the evening of Sunday, August 7, 2011. Michael saw us there and took us on a tour of the fabulous mural in Williamsport.
Thanks Michael - we only wish we could remember all the stories on the walls!
Thank you so much for the talk about the State College Mural today. Fr. Sergio loved the mural and so did I! Thanks again, Blessings, Jane Danz, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, State College, PA
Had a great time seeing the mural again with my Lyco class. It's amazing, and I can't wait to see the great things that have yet to be added to it!
We went in search of a Geocache and came away with a better understanding of the people of Williamsport and a fine young artist. We were in town, from Oregon, touring the East Coast and its beautiful fall colors. A total of nine tour members stood in amazement gawking at the art that surrounded us. A young man approached introduced himself and asked if we would like a tour. The artist, Micheal Pilato, took us on a tour that we will never forget. We came away with a better understanding of the people of Williamsport, the art before us and the Artist Micheal Pilato.
In closing we would like to thank Mr. Pilato for taking the time to introducing us to your art. You are amazing!!!

was with the Brickerville Leisure Hours Club on Thursday Oct,28th, 2010 to see your murals... Beautiful beyond words... Enjoyed your tour very much....It is so amazing what you have done to show the world the beauty of art..... I am so glad I had the chance to see it... My granddaughter is planning to go to an art school next yr, after she graduates and I hope she gets as good as you and the students who helped you...
Sincerely, Bev Rightnour
the mural was very intresting and inspiring. keep up the good work!!! i cant wait to see the next addition to your work.
The mural was very inspirational. There was so many things to look and admire on the wall it was so overwhelming. My favorite section of the mural was the 9/11 section because it was such an important time in out U.S. history.
Thank you so much for all of the work all over the world that you do with your murals...It was a great inspiration to me to see the murals in williamsport because i saw people that i know and how they made a difference in the world. It makes me believe that someone like me could maybe one day achieve greatness. I loved how you had interaction between the people in your murals, like one person waving or blowing a kiss to someone on the other side of the mural. Thank you for everything!! And i hope you are able to continue your art in many new areas as well as in this area 🙂
i thought the 3-d painting was very creative. it would be cool to ad things that glow in the dark like lamps, lights, fires and etc.
Michael,
I thought that my experience of your art work was the most amazing mural ever that I have seen, and I thought that what you said about having a passion to do something and you listen to the people that love you, you can do anything, and that quote has been my motto ever seance then.
Mr. Pilato,
I think the murals were awesome. Every time you look at them you find more stuff in them. Thanks for the time you took to tell us about the murals.
I want to say thank you very much for showing us your mural artwork. Out of our fieldtrip, I really enjoyed the murals the best. I'm really good at art drawing and what I have seen inspired me to be creative and always remember what kind of people are there in the world. I hope you keep painting alot more murals because it is awesome. Thank you very much for the tour again Mr.Pilato.
Sincerely,
Zackery G
I loved Pilato's murals. He is an amazing artist. I especially liked the mural in Lycoming county. I love how everything he paints has a story behind it. I also like Mike Pilato as a person because he is a helpful member in community and he has a wonderful artist school. When i visited him he was currently in the process of teaching a man with cycistic fibrocis to paint using his head. I just really enjoyed this experience, i plan on visiting more of his murals and hopefully one day taking my children to see his murals.
Mr.Pilato,
I wanted to express my thanks for the personal tour you gave Mr.Machmer's local history class earlier this month. Everyone really enjoyed being able to talk to you personally and many of my classmates learned more about members of their family you have immortalized within your mural. Your artwork is incredible and I found myself trying to hold back tears on more than one instance during your tour. Thank you for all the hard-work you have put into the Lycoming County Mural, I hope you will be able to accomplish all you wish to. Good-luck in all your endeavors! - Emily Aderhold
Your work is amazing. I went to see it with my local history class on October the 12th and it was so great. Every thing you are doing to help the community and the families of the people in the mural is so generous. I wish you all the best with your work and i hope you may continue your work for many years!
Best Wishes! Catie K.
These murals are beautiful and extraordinary. I've never see anything like them, i felt as if i didn't have enough time to devote to looking at every single mural because i would have liked to spend a lot more time looking at the murals. I couldn't pick a favorite mural because they were are so colorful and bright and if you were someone whose family was in the military or you lost someone in 9/11 you could really relate to those murals. Your doing an AMAZING job. Keep on going and pushing forward i can't wait to see more beautiful murals!

I was in to see the murals on a class trip. They were amazing and have alot of potential. I think there should be more or the murals everywhere. I think Brian Machmer should be put on the murals because he respects them alot. He takes time out of his life to show a class every year in school. I think thats important because it lets people know about the importance of history. Just like your mural. He keeps this area updated on the pasts and presents and thats why he should be on your mural.
I am a student at Hughesville High School and in our local history class we visited the Pilato Mural in Lycoming County. The mural was amazing and full of little details that you would not see from the road. I highly recommend visiting the mural. It is not just a bunch of random pictures, it is a mural of stories waiting to be heard.
Your work is extraordinary. All the stories were so fascinating to me. I was thankful my teacher, Mr. Machmer, gave my local history class the experience to learn more about it. I've driven by it, but never knew the true stories behind the mural. I wish we would've had more time to listen. Thank you for taking the time to meet with our class.
Good luck with everything.
Sincerely,
Chelsy Waldman
The Murals Where Amazing And Beautiful. I Really Liked The Mural Of Kyri Hall. But I Liked All The Murals. I Would Love To Come Back And Learn More About Your Murals. Its Amazing On How You Put So Much Effort And Time You Put Into Your Murals. I Could Relate To Some Of Your Murals That You Have On The Wall. I Think All Of The Murals Are Amazing! But Again I Loved All Your Murals That You Have Done, Can't Wait To Come Back Again And See Lots More.
I loved the trip to go see this. It was different and unusual, two of my favorite thing. (: One day I want to become a painter,I love the fact that you express your feelings through paint. You're the best I've ever seen and I would love for you to keep up your work. You don't just pick people everyone knows to paint, you choose the average person who has done their part in life and became known for it. You've inspired me, and I thank you for that. (: Please continue your amazing work.
Michael Pilato; I wanted to thank you for taking the time to tell our school about your murals. I learned a lot. Such as pursuring your dreams & I learned a different view point torwards art. I hope your art goes all over the world because you take your time to make anything possiable. Not only that, I hope everyone can see how much your making a difference torward the community.
I am a student from Hughesville High School, and our class came to visit your murals on a class trip. I think you are doing a wonderful job and the murals are beautiful. I thank you for showing us your work and some of the stories that you told us about the paintings. Keep up the hard work.
Your mural in Williamsport was enlightening in so many ways.
I visited the murals as a chaperone with the Hughesville High School's
local history class. WOW!!!! From its conception to the never ending completion, this project is truly amazing. Watching the faces of the students as they listened to Michael and studied the murals was impressive. The students were awed and sometimes speechless. I hope they all have the chance to return and bring others to this wonderful sight.

My class took a trip to visit your mural a couple of weeks ago. This was the first time that i stopped and took a close look at the mural. I never realized how much small details you put in your work. I was very impressed and amazed. The mural is absolutely beautiful. i would like to thank you for giving us a tour of the mural. hello, Mr. Pilato my name is evan i visited your mural in williamsport with my local history class and i thought it was amazing the detail and time that went into the mural great job on showing our history in this area thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the stories behind the pictures and people on the mural. I drove by the mural one day randomly and thought it was really interesting and beautiful. I stopped and looked at it from afar for a little bit, but never got to hear the stories from the artist himself. It really intrigued me that there were so many little intricate stories within the mural, like the baseball and the teddy bear on the roof. It is an awesome thing for you to help preserve the history of Lycoming County, so everyone can see. Hopefully, one day something I was apart of will be put on the wall. Thanks again!!
Micheal

What i liked about your mural was how you had everything mixed together yet it all made sence in the world at a point. i liked how you had the Indians mixed in with the Americans i think that totally awesome. The one thing i liked the most had to be the solider's up on the wall that had passed away but had good cause. thanks yo for letting me enjoy your mural with the rest of my class keep up the good work it's pretty awesome!
Hello Michael, my local history class went to see your mural in Williamsport it was AMAZZING!! You did a very nice job. It looks very good. Its also really cool how you painted the FIRST 3d pictures outside. Good job, i also really liked how you include so many diffrent types of people and cultures. Very nice job. Hello, Mr. Pilato i visited your mural in williamsport with my local history class i liked your mural on the wall it is pretty cool how you can put all of the history of williamsport on the walls so every one can see it
Thanks for allowing us to visit and learn about the murals. I liked the kids' actual drawings that you put on the murals.
Mr. Pilato,
Thank you for the tour of the murals, to be quite honest, they're freakin' awesome. Also, I really admired the sentimental value of your work. The detail of the paintings was obvious, but upon a closer look and instruction from you, I noticed that the mural was interactive with not only the community, but also interactive within itself. It seemed as if each part of the mural reflected another part of it, and I admired that you showed that everything in our community is effected by another part. The unity displayed throughout the mural is inspiring and enlightening.
Mr. Pilato,
Thank you for taking your time to give us a tour of the mural and inform us on what each part of the mural meant. Before, I had only seen the mural once and only took in the general picture and even then it was breath takingly detailed, but now that I got to go hear what each thing meant and look closer at each section I realized that there's so much involved within and even outside of it. Your passion for art really showed at it was incredibly inspiring. Again, thank you so much for your time.

Thank you so much for letting us be able to come and visit in Williamsport. Thanks for telling us all about the murals and how they inspired you. I hope to be able to come and visit again and be able to stay longer and learn more. I liked the 3-D mural and the 9-11 mural. I remember when you came to Ashkar and we put our hand prints on the Pope. I liked how detailed the murals where. I liked the bubble and the teddy bear story. I also liked how you had people looking at someone else across the murals. I liked the dedication wall where you let the kids draw and putting them on the wall. I liked how you had the purple heart in the wall. I liked how you had all the hand prints and the halos and the angel wings. Getting to go into your studio was fun and to see what you paint with and knowing your name is Michael many colors and the reasoning behind it was cool. I wish we would have been able to have more time and to ask you questions and talk to you and to learn more stories about the murals and the people and how it inspired you. Thanks again!
I want to thank you for taking the time to show us the mural in Williamsport. I was captivated with the stories about the people on the mural and they were very inspirational. I really enjoyed the story about the teddy bear and about the boy who had the heart attack. Also I enjoyed the 9/11 tribute. I loved the detailed into it. The story about the fisherman was interesting. I loved how the mural had actual pictures from kids on it and that it had the purple heart in it. The cross from the steel of the Twin Towers was very memorable and remarkable. Going into your studio was a bonus. I loved the painting of the women when we first walked in and the painting of the fish. I just wish we had more time during our trip so i could taken more time to learn more about the mural and the story of the people in it. I had a really good time. Thanks again!

The Williamsport murals were so amazing. There is so much about our area that Mr. Pilato managed to capture in his murals that i had no clue occurred. Mr. Pilato's murals should continue to receive more funding because they give back to the community and they are a great learning experience.
Thank you for creating the murals in Williamsport, it shows people how much history this area has had. Also i really enjoyed the murals it was the best part of the field trip we had.

Thank you for giving us a tour of the murals. It made it very interesting to know all the little stories that truly make the mural interesting. I really like the flight 800 mural and how a person on one side of the mural is somehow related to a person on the other the side of the mural. All the stories are linked making it very interesting. Your work is amazing.
I thought the whole mural was absolutely beautiful. That kind of thing completely inspires me to do something just as great as you. (Well, first that would require some artistic talent off of a computer. ) Painting is something I always wished I could do well, but sadly I don't have the patience or skill. Everything in the mural was carefully planned out and as a result, looked flawless. Someday, I would love to be a part of your mural, whether it be funding, inspiring, or actually being included in it. Thanks a ton for allowing us to come and see your amazing creation.
MR. Pilato thank for touring us and telling us about all of the pictures. thank you for all of ur time. you are really talented in what you do and i hope that everyone really appreciates your work as much as i do. thank you for all the stuff you do.
I would like to thank you for taking your time to tell us about the paintings.I was vary pleased to spend time to look at the pictures that you drew.I think you have a lot of talent.I hope you keep doing your paintings because I know that it means a lot to the family's that are painted on the murals. I would like to thank you again.

Sincere thanks for your inspirational tour of your mural and studio when my husband and I visited Williamsport (with Chris Wallace).
Your passion for art and Williamsport were evident as you described the many aspects of your mural. Equally important was your love of children and your hopes for them.
Michael,
I recently was touring my college friends and spouses from New York around Williamsport, showing them the highlights. As I do when I tour families relocating to the area I included the mural. The history depicted and the artistic techniques used are so large in scope that I can never do the mural justice when I try to describe it to others. How surprised I was that we came upon you at the mural and you graciously provided an inspiring tour to my friends. The mural was the highlight of our reunion visit as they recalled the many aspects of the project....education, inspiration, beauty and more. it's impact is immeasurable!
Thank you so much for such a memorable meeting!

Michael,
Thank-you for taking the time to show my sister and myself the fabulous mural at the Bullfrog. I never realized the detail and meaning behind it. Truly awe-inspiring. I look forward to seeing you and more of your work again.
Beth McKelvey
michael:
a few weeks back, i was walking past the mural with my brother, marc (after a night out at the bullfrog and franco's). it was a late wednesday night.
long story short, we saw a man on the far end of the lot, and the man was you. you ambled over and offered to give us a bit of a guided tour of the mural. although i have virtually no first-hand knowledge of the people in it, the mural really captured my interest, and your talk was not merely informative but truly inspirational (appropriately enough, eh?)... as i write this, i have before me the pieces of bark from the liberty tree that you were so generous to give me... but, more than that, the memory of that encounter--small in time but large in mind--stays with me. thank you!!!
wishing you well,
brian drier

This art is truly amazing. I have traveled the world, seen the work of Botticelli, Slvador Dali and Michelangelo. The work of Michael Pilato is comprable to those greats. Seeing his work in person and hearing the stories behind these murals was inspiring. I suggest a trip to Williamsport or State College for anyone who wants to have an amazing artistic experience!

You are by far the most talented artist I have ever had the privelege of meeting. I will look forward to our next visit to see the new additions to the project. All the best and I'll pass the news of this masterpiece to those in this part of the state.
Wow...the Mural we saw this weekend on main street Lycoming just
blew us away. We had the pleasure of meeting Michael and getting a
private tour of the mural and it's history. It was the most fascinating
half hour we have ever spent in town.
Can't wait to see who makes it on the wall next year.
Carol & Steven Kallet
Michael, thanks for giving me and my friends the grand tour of the mural next to the Bullfrog Brewery on the afternoon of Sunday, September 6, 2009. It was very inspiring seeing your work of art up close along with your explanation of the meaning of every aspect of the mural. I'll be sure to mention your mural to everyone I know in Canada and to visit Williamsport.
Saw your work for the first time earlier this month. Very cool!! Will def make more trips in the future to follow your progress...! Good luck with all you set out to do in life!
Micheal, the first year of your project you spoke to the high school students at Montgomery Area HS for 90 minutes. Your words and art work inspired many converstations for weeks to come. Your messages of seeing beauty around us, celebrating lives and individuals, giving back to a community, and most importantly: each of us can make a hopefilled difference by the small positive things we do each day. Two students went on to work with you that first year. Thank you for caputuring our souls and hearts for our frined, famiies and generations to come. Thank you for the hope and peace your words and artwork inspire in anyone who has the chance to experience the Williamsport mural.
Beautiful and inspiring work.
Hi Michael.
You are an amazing and talented human being! I was part of the Lycoming College education class that visited the Wmspt. Mural with you last Tuesday and I can only say, Thank You. Your thought and emotion and desire to teach is clear in each brushstroke. As a resident of the area, I've visited the mural often but having you explain just some of the detail and stories behind your work made it come alive in a completely different way. I just couldn't stop talking about it! Thank you for sharing your genius with us and I hope you will continue to teach and share with others for a very long time.
Hey Michael - How are you? Glad to see you're still at it. I've been in Los Angeles for 14 years...returned to Pittsburgh last year...but just completed a mural project in LA last month. Touch base if you get a chance. Take care - Ken
The concept of living art is overwhelming; it grows, inspires, breathes. There is not a drop of paint on this mural that does not serve a specific purpose and contribution to the whole. The layering of this art is beyond numbers - past present and future, locality state and country, the parallels in mural, the way the opposing walls interact with one another, the layers of paint and other materials used such as purple hearts, how people interact through time to define a community.
I will never forget that you are also on the wall in the colors...
Hey! Just wanted to thank you for telling us about the mural today! It's really amazing what you have done and I'm really happy I know more about the meaning now!
I visited the mural in Williamsport on Tuesday with my education class. It was a great experience learning so much about the history of this community. The ideas, time, and creativity put into this work is outstanding. This mural is just something that people in this area can build on forever if they wanted to. It was a great experience and I suggest that if you have the time you visit this mural and view the history behind this great work of art.....
I really enjoyed the mural in the Bull Frog and the bank parking lot near Lycoming College. It was very interesting to learn about all the reasonings behind each individual person. I never realized how much thought went into a painting such as that. It was just awesome!
When I first came to Williamsport and Lycoming College the mural was one of the first sites that I saw. Then I was moved by the kindness and throughtfulness that had gone into the work. I was very excited to have the tour of it and to learn all about it. There are some very emotional stories along with fond memories and good times. By the end of our tour I wanted to ask Michale what I could do, if anything, to help him and to see if he would come to my home town and do a mural there.
This is an amazing project and the vision of Michael is incredible and inspiring. I only hope that as a teacher I can move children and communities a fraction of the amount he has.
I just finished a tour of the Williamsport mural with Michael. It is amazing artwork that is so uplifting to the community! I am so honored to have been able to listen to why certain people are on the wall and how Williamsport takes pride in its citizens. Thank you for a great tour. Good luck in the future. I cannot wait to see the new pieces that will be added!!
Thank you for all that you have done for our community and sharing your passion for Art with the Education Literacy Class from Lycoming College! Your involvement in our community is very much appreciated!
I had no idea that not only this mural was so beautiful, but the history and the stories took my breathe away. I am proud to go to Lycoming College in historical Williamsport! 🙂
I had no idea that not only this mural was so beautiful, but the history and the stories took my breathe away. I am proud to go to Lycoming College in historical Williamsport! 🙂
I just finished the tour of the Williamsport murals, and I was in complete awe. These paintings are amazing, and there is so much history behind them, i had no idea that we had so many amazing people living in Williamsport, and in surrounding areas.
Thanks for the tour of the Mural. It was great to hear the stories behind the paintings. Its great for the community and is truly inspiring. Thanks again.
I just finished a tour of the Williamsport Mural given by Michael. I found it absolutely fascinating to listen to all of the stories behind the mural. I am in love with history, and to see history come alive through the art is a wonderful thing!
I just completed the tour of the mural on the walls of the bank and Bullfrog, and I am so blown away. A friend used to live in the apartments behind the murals, so I would pass it three or four times a day. There is so much history and creativity found in that mural that I am just stunned. I can't believe the amount of time and pure emotion painted on those walls. I appreciate everything you have done for the community. Thank you.
Thank you! You are a gift to our community! Your vision includes our past, present and future!

Hey brother! love yer new work, Joey gave me your 911 portfolio before he left for the west coast, and you gotta see my new style of painting partly due to yer influence, contact me
i just got finished from a tour given about the mural in Williamsport by Michael. The words that keep repeating out of my mouth are wow, wow, wow. I was so impressed with all the little details throughout the entire mural. I believe that this mural can make a difference in Williamsport. Inspirational. Not only inspirational to those that are already on the mural but those that live/visit/work in Williamsport. I would truly like to say, thank you, for such a wonderful gift to this area. Also, a thank you to all those that have helped sponsor this mural, it is truly an inspiration.
Thank you Michael, you are a true artist.
Fantastic!
Excruciatingly wonderful art: best of luck with the Public Art School! I was blessed with your time and talent, if only for a brief glimpse on a beautiful day!
THANX!
My first and only visit to downtown Williamsport on August 16th, 2008, proved to be a true gift of life. I had the privilege to engage the art and history of the mural and found both the story told and the artist to be an inspiration. The work being done and the story being told are a treasure to Williamsport, as is the artist. I can only hope it will continue into the future and that I will again get to share that inspiration.
Michael and everyone at The Public Art Academy! I´d just like to express my feelings of gratitude and pride, in your online guest book! Being able to contribute to the Williamsport mural and other projects during the spring of 2008, was such a unique experience and an absolute blessing! Not only are you bringing art to our communities but you are helping us realize the value of the little things. Thank you for all you do.
Michael, your work is awesome, keep up the great job! 😀
I loved visiting the mural in Williamsport and cried when my children got to add their handprints to the picture of my father, Jerry Walls. Of the stories you told about all the different individuals, some were familiar, and some were brand new, even though I grew up in Williamsport. Your work and dedication to the people of Lycoming County are phenomenal. I just started taking an art appreciation course, and I'm referencing your fabulous work many times over. Thanks for being a dynamic presence in my hometown!
It really has been an awesome experience for you to come to HWES and do a mural with us. The mural looks great, and I can't get out the feeling when I see it on our brick wall everyday. I can't wait to see you back at the end of May. Thanks for all you have done! : )
Our visit to PSU was enhanced by sitting across from your mural and taking in its beauty, its creativity, and its message.
Bravo.
Regards, Nathan Fisher '63
It's a great experience for me to work with a professional artist and also get to paint on his murals....especially since it's for our school! (HWES) Talking with Skye is also a lot of fun, and thinking that I contributed to such a large creation just makes me feel proud, even if I just contributed a little. Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
Dear Mr. Pilato,
Thank you for coming and doing the mural it looks good so far! I bet by the time it's finished it's going to look beautiful and amazing. Thank you Again!
Love the Donald L. Heiter Community Center Kids.
it was such an inspiration michael
it was such an inspiration michael
I LOVE your paintings and murals! I just met you when you came to Hunters Woods Elemantery School to meet us for the mural for sixth grade. I know your nephew Noah he's a really good friend of mine. Is really cool that you are both related and that you were able to work with us for the whole week.
Hey Michael
Thanks for the tour of the mural and the studio. It was fantastic to see how you are able to include our great group of international exchange students into your work for the community. You are a great inspiration to the students, and they are learning great lessons from your work. The mural project is truly working towards creating a greater peace in our world by having these young people bring home the positive and powerful messages your art creates. It truly shows in many ways how we are all interconnected in some way and that citizen diplomacy is the only real solution to hate, war, and terrorism. You have truly made a substantial impact on the students we have there from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, The Ukraine, Turkey, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and India.
I hope to get another great group of students involved with the mural next year! 🙂
Keep up the great work, and keep expanding this project!

Michael finds a way to create living art. His inspiration and dreams come through his vision. Listen to his work, he is making this world a better place to live.
wow!!!!!!!!!
What a breath taking work of art that tells the story of
a town I am proud to say I grew up in. From the height of it's excesses during the decadent Victorian era to a newly revived Williamsport through it's vibrant art scene!
I have viewed your show on WVIA, you are a great inspiration to many. You're a true compassionate artist which has mastered a way to convey your message with an lasting impact of emotion and education. You are a humanitarian and will go down in history.
Thank you for touching the hearts of many.
Thank you for taking the time to show the Sheridan Reading Club the murals back in October 2007. It was truly amazing to learn of the inspirations behind all of the paintings.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to speak to our reading club from Sheridan Elementary. It was neat to hear the history of our county. I especially liked how you are embedding real artifacts and other pieces into the wall.
I really like the inspiration of lycoming county mural!
thanks for giving us a tour.
Thank you for spending time with the loyalsock elamentary gifted progam. I love that you use people like us!
Thank you so much for the time you spent with the Sheridan Reading Club. It was a pleasure to see the mural and all the inspiration behind it. As you told the stories to us, it was an inspiration just to see the faces of the children as they listened with fascination. As for me as a native of Pittsburgh, now living here, just hearing of the history of Lycoming County now come to life with your mural and your love of the arts. Thanks again for your time. May God bless you in this endeavor.
Thank you so much for the tour you gave the Sheridan Reading Club on Oct. 10th. I came away from that hour inspired not only by the artwork, but by the meaningful stories behind each person and object you have placed on the mural. Thank you also for the message you impressed upon the students ~ that if you listen, learn, and work hard you can do anything you want too. Finally, as the parent of a child with a disability, I appreciate your inclusion of all people. Each and every person is given special talents that we can learn from. Thank you for sharing your talents with us and all people who visit Williamsport.
I liked all the mural. Thanks for showing it to us.
Thank you for talking to us about your work. Watching the mural unfold is a great experience. It is huge for Williamsport!
Thanks for the tour Sunday night. It was good to meet you and even better to hear you talk about the marvelous work you are doing.
Thanks for sharing your gifts with my sister and brother-in-law. He will be sending you a picture of his father who worked the logs on the river.
Peace.
I so enjoyed your tour of the Williamsport mural last night. It's beautiful and certainly inspiring. I woke up this morning and was pleased to be able to see it out of my hotel window. Thank you so much.
Thank you for taking the time to share your art with our future artists- our children are fortunate to have the opportunity to witness the production of such a grand display of community art.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give my class a tour of your wonderful work. I find your work to not only extremely impressive, but also inspirational. It really gives you a sense of appreciation for both art and history. I love the fact that each and every piece of the mural tells it's own story and some even collide with each other. I really gave me a feel for what these men and women have contributed to the world. The mural really touched me, and one story even caused me to become emotional. After the tour, I felt a sense of attachment to every person up on that wall. I would encourage everyone to come and check it out for themselves! I'll probably be revisiting myself. Thanks again to all who contributed to this brilliant work of art!
I want to thank you for taking out the time to give us the wonderful tour of the murals. I had no idea that there was so much background to the murals. Keep up the amazing work that you are doing!
Allow me first to express gratitude for each person who played a role in this stunning and inspirational work of art in the parking lot of the Bullfrog in Williamsport PA. It is a labor of not only perfection but one that relays history with impressive images. The murals did, as I’m certain it did for most people, take my breath away. When hearing the stories of the men and women of all different walks of life that are depicted on the mural, one can’t help but feel attached to these men and women’s contributions and sacrifices. What better way to remember these historic monuments, then to paint enduring memories of their lives on the outside of buildings. These murals have enriched the community and driven home a sense of purpose and a solemn feeling of the past’s contributions to the present. Again, I thank all who were involved in this masterpiece and would most certainly revisit the parking lot on numerous occassions!
I want to thank you Michael for taking my class on a tour of the mural in downtown Williamsport. It opened my eyes to an unfamiliar place (I was born in New Jersey) and I got to see how a wonderful place like Williamsport has changed over the years. I was fascinated by the wide variety of people you had on the mural and the dedication of you, your family, and your team. It was a sight not to be missed.
Thank you so much!
Your painting in the parking lot of the Bullfrog and Coffee and Tea Room were amazing. It is truly inspiring to see an artist work so much for their goal and you are obtaining just that.
Michael,
So many thanks for being so approachable and kind while I payed my old stomping ground a visit...I've often said (in reference to myself) that 'you can take the Girl out of PA but you can't take the Pennsylvania out of the Girl', and seeing your mural was a high point of my time at 'home'. I appreciate the level of passion in your Wmspt. mural. Your love for the area really shines.
And its *so funny* that we were both Govie School kids. heh heh.
Bless you and your wonderful work.

Micheal,
Thank you for taking the time to show us your work. I was not only blown away by your talent, but also by your dedication to the craft. It's wonderful to see someone working from their soul. You're honestly an inspiration.
Michael,
Thanks so much for the tour you gave the Tecumseh Art and Choir students last Saturday night. Your work is truly inspirational! I couldn't believe how much my son talked about your work after we headed home. I was especially affected by your 911 memorial. Truly moving.
Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your amazing work and the stories that go along with them. What you are doing is extremely cool and i think it is a great way to honor special people whom should be honored. I love the detail in all of them and the way you have the people interact with each other through the paintings on opposite side walls. I think that its great that you are doing that and that every town should have something like it. I would love to have that done in Tecumseh! So thank you again and good luck with everything you do! I hope to see it sometime again when it is finished more.
WOW... thanks for taking time out to show the Tecumseh High School students your amazing work. As a chaperone, I was impressed by your passion, skills and your ability to integrate past, present and the future into your work. On top of that, your willingness to give back to your profession ands to the community... by involving student painters and by working with troubled teens. Best of luck with the Williamsport project and all of your future endeavors!
My son came home from the trip talking about the work you have done and how impressed he was. Your murals on the web site are amazing; the work you are doing is inspiring to young artist. Thank you for taking time with the students.
Michael,
Thank you so much for taking the time to show our group the murals you are currently working on. I personally was very touched by the work you are doing. I was so impressed by the way you mix past, present and future together and is such a meaningful way. I talked to several students afterward and they had told me that out of all the art we saw on our trip yours was the most meaningful and inspiring. Thank you again and good luck with your current project and those in the future.
Michael,
Thank you for taking your time to show us your wonderful murals. I was blown away with your shading in your mural; it made the people and backgrounds look very realistic. I also like how you are using different heroes and turning them into something positive for your community. I hope the murals turn out well.
Michael -
I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to show our groupj of students and parents your artwork. I was truly blown away by your spectacular projects. I truly loved them. You put so much time and hard work into your art and it truly shows. You did and are continuing to do a wonderful job! Your talent is not going unnoticed and that is a good thing because you have an awsome talent that should be discovered world wide! The emotions you capture and how you capture the life in the murals we saw was just amazing. For example, just looking at the September 11th mural gave me goosebumps. I love how you incorperate the murals with eachother and how you put so much thought into every little detail. You are truly inpiring and I will deffinatly remember everything you told us. You are a great inspiration. Keep up the good work and good luck on current and future projects! Thanks again and you have made such a difference in many people's lives!!

Thanks for the great tour November 4,2006 in Williamsport, Pa. Just after my 20 year class reunion from Hughesville High School (which we had at the bullfrog brewery) you gave a bunch of us a great tour of your work, which was stunning not to mention very emotional. My fiance and I toured it again on sunday morning just so that I could see it in the daylight. Hope to see it again when it's finished.
Thanks Michael for our friendship during the week of 9/11. whilst I was staying at the Genetti Hotel. Your
'parking lot' mural was inspirational, especially after I'd just visited the Norman Rockwell Museum, Stocksbridge, MA. Your work picks up this great tradition of American artists in portraying the 'people of its time and location' with a brilliance and dynanismn of 'classical dimension' honouring local heroes. Well done, - carry on !!
I really like the website Mike. You know how much I enjoy your art, as does our little town. You have made a wonderful transformation of some old buildings that make a great canvas for your work. Keep keeping on brother.
Much Respect.
loved the tour of the mural, we will be back to see the progress being made.
Mr. Pilato is a gifted artist, but his greatest gift is that he shares his giftedness with children. Paint eventually fades but the inspired minds of children never do.
We stumbled upon your mural when we came to see a show at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. We were especially in awe of the 9/11 tribute!
Awesome talent!!
I'm so inspired by your work, and so grateful that you brought such a new larger then life form of art to Lycoming County. I hope that I can work with you soon!
Micheal , your mural is a wonderful tribute to local people and history as well depicting global interdependance. Great to meet you. Hugh and Fran Flint from Oxford , England and my sister Pat Ciabocchi from Trout Run .
Amazing work Michael! Keep up your efforts towards establishing an arts academy in Williamsport, PA.
Mike! I got the new guestbook up and running for you. Stop getting so many visits to your website, it's getting too big 😉 Plink Media to the rescue! Hope everything is going well, the mural is looking amazing (as always). See ya soon!
Nice work, Pilato. Give me a shout when you are ready to work on that project. Travis
Thanks for coming to our community. We need more
people like you around

I wish everyone had as open a mind as yours. You presented to my class at Montoursville high school and the students are awed by the beauty in your paintings. I was very taken with the honesty in which you present every aspect of a culture, our culture of many fascets! And touched by the sentiment that accompanies all the people honored in the paintings. We are looking forward to seeing the mural downtown.
Thank you.
This is Pei-Ching, the graduate student of the Penn State University, participating in your presentation this Saturday. Hope you still remember me. I am so apprecited that you , an artist, utilize your talented art to record this community, State College, and you, an educator, explore your ability to influence the community, the people who have lived here, and even the people from other places. Community is the familar environment in our everyday life.
Through your paintings, community members have become closer and more interactive. Meanwhile, your presentation also impressed me and unlocked my curiosity about the mural paintings in State College.
You are making Williamsport come alive with people, places and pride in our special way of life. Thanks.
Words can never express to you how we feel, you have used your gift, and helped us at a very hard time in our lives. I felt very privileged to be able to sit beside you and watch you paint our Son, it ment so much to me, and I feel anyone who comes and looks at our Son, will be able to feel what kind of a person He was, you painted Him so perfectly, and for that we are so thankful to you. THANK YOU MIKE! Brigette & Larry
My husband and I met you last year and you were kind enough to share the stories regarding your outstanding mural in State College. Your work is outstanding and inspirational beyond words. Thank you for sharing your talents and contributing to the community.

Lisa Pilato
Skye Pilato is a visionary and an artistic genius. Her works are reminiscent of Bearden and Basquiat. You are an inspiration for all young artists. Cheers.
Michael - Great site - your work is amazing. Every time I am downtown in State College I admire your murals, they are awesome! The stories behind all of the faces in Inspiration are deep with meaning - it truly is inspiring! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see the new inspiration come alive!
Mike, your work is amazing. Every time I pass by a mural, I stop and stare. And your 9/11 tribute was such a positive experience! I'm so glad your work is displayed so prominently; I wouldn't have it any other way! Keep showing the world just how moving art can be, and the world will keep watching. 🙂
Hey, just checking out your site, i like it- your mural is really impressive.. would like to see more of them. Thanks for the tour downtown.
Michael and Keiko,
Great site! I will be sharing it with the third grade ASAP. Inspiration is the perfect name for your mural project. All the rich history and stories behind the images leave us feeling proud of our communities and feeling compelled to keep them a positive, caring place to live. Art can carry a powerful message and God bless you for putting it out there for all to see.
As an owner of the Bullfrog Brewery and a member of the Our Towns 2010 mural committee, I have been privileged to be part of the Williamsport mural project from the beginning. I have seen many of the public presentations delivered by you and Keiko. I have talked to hundreds of people who have attended these presentations, and have not yet encountered anyone who wasn't inspired by the project and your endless enthusiasm. Every day, I look forward to new developments and feedback. My family and I , very much, enjoy hosting you and your family, when they are in town and, eagerly, anticipate more of the same. Your artistic ability, your ideas, your enthusiasm, your caring, and your personality are a winning combination for Williamsport.
The City of Williamsport is enriched by the value and the promise of your healing through art philosophy, presently depicted on your Mural Project downtown..
Michael--Thank you--with affection and deep admiration ..
Onward and Godspeed
Mike, you're the best! Keep on keepin' on, (and painting!)
You Rock
I am familiar with Michael's work as a superior artist and have several of his piecess in our home, including a mural of the family. his representation of people brings their character to life and his use of color and symbolism is amazing. I am anxious to see his Williamsport mural project first hand, but it is difficult to imagin that it will surpass his INSPIRIATION that adorns State Colloege, PA. As a Penn State Alum, his works makes me proud of the school and of having lived in Center County while going to school there.
Thank you guys! The image, idea and soul... beautiful!
I met you one night at the Bullfrog, and you're good buddies with my uncle, Jim Leigh. He told me about your website not too long ago and I just got a chance to check it out. Beautifully done, both the artwork you're highlighting and the website itself.
I know the project you're working on for the City of Williamsport will turn out beautifully. I can't wait to see the finished product!
If my uncle hasn't told you already, I have a project of my own that I'd like to speak with you about. We'll talk more the next time I see you around. Peace!
Great work dad! I love you.
